A strip club in Michigan faced backlash from the community after displaying a humorous sign that advertised job openings for recent high school graduates. The sign requested “gorgeous, confident, and talented women who can own the dance floor,” without specifying age requirements, although it was clearly directed at new graduates.
The topless bar, Miceli’s Corner, located in Harrison, has gained attention online for its provocative message: “Now Hiring Class of 2016.”

The sign has circulated widely on social media, attracting criticism and outrage from local residents who feel it sends an inappropriate message to young girls.
Local resident Lisa Mulholland expressed that the sign was unsuitable and conveyed the wrong message to high school graduates.
She also mentioned to WNEM: “If you’re a graduate, you should be aiming for college.”
While she acknowledges that she has no personal issue with the club, she believes the sign was in very poor taste. “They’re good people, but I still don’t think it’s right. I don’t think it’s right at all,” Mulholland stated in her interview.

Another local, Lisa Dickerson, shared a similar sentiment.
“Young people just out of high school shouldn’t be taking their clothes off for money. I find it sickening,” she added.
The club has not yet responded to phone inquiries about the sign, but they did release an official apology to WNEM, clarifying that the sign was intended as a joke.
“In no way were we trying to offend anyone. The sign was simply meant to be humorous,” the statement read.

Established in the 1970s, the club promotes a “mild and welcoming atmosphere” where visitors can enjoy the company of the “girls who will take your mind off your daily troubles” while listening to “the most modern music.”
